Norman Bayliss,
1952 - 1953
Norman Bayliss
was first elected to Bilston Borough Council in 1945, and was also
a member of Staffordshire County Council. In 1951 he held the position
of Chairman of the Water Committee and was also the secretary of
the Council's Labour Group. Bayliss was elected mayor in 1952. By
profession he worked as a jig and toolmaker in Darlaston. Bayliss
lived at 13 Central Avenue, Bilston during his mayoral term of office.
He had previously lived at "Rydal", Nightingale Place.
