James Edward Wellings 1950 - 1951

During his mayoral year James Edward Wellings lived at "Welwyn", 31 Shale Street, Bilston. By profession Wellings was a fuel contractor who started up his own business, JE Wellings and Sons, coal coke and haulage merchants. He was first elected to Bilston Borough Council in 1944 representing High Town Ward. He held the position of Chairman to the Water Committee and Vice-chairman of the Public Works Committee. During his term of office as mayor he lived at 'Welwyn', 31 Shale Street, Bilston.
