Jeremiah
Wynn, 1852 - 1853
Wynn was born in Wolverhampton, the descendent of an old Quaker
family. He was a partner in the firm Earp & Wynn, Factors and
Merchants, with premises in St John's Square. He was a radical,
opposing the Corn Laws and endorsing the abolition of church rates.
When elected to the position of mayor in 1852 his health was deteriorating.
In spite of this, he oversaw the improvement of paving, flagging,
cleansing and sewerage works in the town.
